Email milemarker@redstoneoak.com. If a reading is wrong, tell us the road, the marker you saw on the sign, and the marker the app showed. A screenshot helps.
Common questions
Does it work without cell service?
Yes. Every marker and street address is stored on the phone, and the offline map (the Wi-Fi button on the map) draws the roads from that data. Satellite view, directions and Groups (sharing your location, seeing members and group pins) need signal. Everything else works without it. Without signal, the directions banner says it can't route and keeps trying on its own.
Why does it say "Location is off"?
Location access was turned off. Tap Open Settings, then choose While Using the App.
How accurate is it?
It depends on your phone's GPS and on TxDOT's road data. Whole markers match the posted signs. Tenths are calculated between signs. Treat them as close, not exact, and check against the signs when you can.
What can I search for?
A highway and marker ("US 67 716", "I-10 350", "Loop 306 380"), a bare marker number, a county road ("CR 411"), or a street name.
What does it show on a county road?
County roads have no posted mile markers, so the app counts driving miles along the county road back to the state highway it meets, and gives that highway's mile marker at the junction. If a county road never reaches a state highway, it shows the nearest highway marker and its distance instead.
Can I hide the mile marker signs?
Yes. The marker button on the map turns them on and off. They also hide on their own when you zoom far out.
How do groups work?
Tap the people button on the map, enter a share code of at least 6 characters, and pick the name others will see. Everyone who enters the same code is in the same group. Turn on Share my location to show up on their map. It's off until you turn it on, and turning it off removes your position. Delete my shared data removes your position, your name from the group's list, and the pins you shared or sent from this phone. The Groups switch hides the group from your map and stops sharing, but keeps you in the group.
Why does it ask for Always location?
Only when you turn on Share my location, so your group still sees you while your screen is locked. With sharing off, the app only uses your location while it's open.
Which areas are covered?
The 13 Concho Valley counties: Coke, Concho, Crockett, Irion, Kimble, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Reagan, Schleicher, Sterling, Sutton and Tom Green.
Does the screen stay on?
Yes, while the app is open, so it works on a dash mount.
Does it talk?
No. Directions are shown on screen only.
Is it free?
Yes. No ads, no purchases, no account.
